Cookies and Comedy for long-Term Care Patients

Given the great initiative from FM Talent, I decided to take my twenty dollars and purchase ingredients to make cookies (and sugar-free cookies) for our community’s Long Term Care residents.

As July in Alaska is the best time of year to get out and enjoy the sunshine with friends and family, our long-term care residents are unable to enjoy these times as most of us do.  To make these past few weeks more challenging for them, most of our residents are/were Covid-positive.  I was told by the nurses that the residents were unable to have visitors in person, but that they would greatly enjoy the cookies.

I decided to try and uplift their spirits with some humor.  Making individual cookie bags, I also included a page of silly jokes, calling it “cookies & comedy.” The nurses were intrigued to learn about FM Talent and truly touched by the RAK initiative.  My daughters enjoyed helping me bake and deliver the goodie bags.

We were asked to come back once the residents are well so they can thank us. ♥

Thank you, FM Talent, for showing how we can make an ever-lasting impact on our communities.
