A Donation and a Prayer

Group praying

As we know, here at FM Talent we strive to build community and connection while promoting positivity and compassion. I have found that engaging in kind acts helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Practicing kindness helps individuals develop empathy and compassion, making them more attuned to the needs and feelings of others.

For today’s act of kindness, I ran into a homeless man whose sign indicated that he needed money for his family to survive. While originally I walked past him to enter the store, something told me to go back outside to give him some cash and speak with him. In doing so, I was able to lift his spirit. I gave him a few dollars and asked him if I could pray with him.

I took the time out of my lunch shift to pray with a man who was in need. Money isn’t everything, but I do understand the need for it. He was able to get himself something to eat and keep whatever was left in his pockets. The most important thing to me was spreading the love of God, showing this man that there are indeed great people in this world.

That encounter alone was wonderful, and it felt good to be there for another.
