Ebenezer Baptist Church Social Justice Ministry

Ebenezer Baptist Church

I have donated the funds received from the FM Talent Random Acts of Kindness program to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Social Justice Ministry.  My pastor and Georgia's U.S. Senator, Raphael Warnock, believe that a "cash bond" should not disproportionately impact economically challenged families.

Being poor and receiving a citation for driving with a broken taillight, for example, should not lead to the breakdown of families. An individual should not be imprisoned for months awaiting a trial date simply because they cannot afford to pay a cash bond. This program targets first-time offenders who would otherwise pay their traffic citations if funding were not an insurmountable challenge.

Keeping a family housed, fed, and secure is already a challenge in underserved and underfunded families and communities. Here in Georgia, a simple traffic citation can cost thousands of dollars when factoring in court costs, legal fees, and especially private cash bond administrative and probation costs. As a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, a graduate of a top-tier aviation university, and now a small business owner, I can never forget my humble beginnings, raised by a single loving parent who encouraged me to pursue STEM courses and strive for the seemingly impossible.

Thank you again for your inclusive efforts and the cash contribution. I am deeply impressed by FM Talent's values and commitment to making a difference in our communities.
